Church roof collapses in Ghana, 22 killed



Accra: A three-story church building under construction in Ghana collapsed, killing 22 people and injuring several others.

According to the World News Agency, the roof of a three-story church in the West African country of Ghana collapsed while a large number of people were worshiping there. Twenty-two people were killed and 15 others were injured in the blast.

Rescuers rushed the dead and injured to a nearby hospital, where 11 women, 10 men and a girl were confirmed dead. Five of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

More than 60 people were inside the building at the time of the collapse, and dozens are still buried under the rubble, raising fears of an increase in casualties. The three-story church building has been under construction since 1994
