In France, insulting cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad were made in the name of freedom of expression, and Kuwaiti shopkeepers spread to all Muslim countries, boycotting French products and removing French goods from their stores and supermarkets.
According to Al-Arabiya, the Union of Kuwaiti Non-Governmental Consumer Cooperative Societies issued an official circular on Friday boycotting French goods. The union includes more than 70 Kuwaiti organizations. Products made by French companies from superstores have been removed from shelves, especially for hair and facial protection and beauty.

The head of the union, Fahd al-Kashti, told reporters: "All French products have been removed from all consumer cooperative societies. This independent decision was made in response to repeated insults to the Prophet Muhammad in France and to the Kuwaiti government. It has nothing to do with them. Some of these cooperative societies are on par with the larger Kuwaiti markets and sell cheap items to Kuwaitis on government-sponsored compensation. They also provide some educational courses and recreational activities.
According to Kuwait's Central Bureau of Statistics, it imported 250 million dinars (83 834.7 million) worth of goods from France in 2019. In the first half of 2020, Kuwait imported 83.6 million dinars worth of goods from France. Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, the largest country in the Arab world, a campaign is being launched on Twitter to boycott the French supermarket 'Carrefour' and today the trend of boycotting it was second.

It should be noted that a history teacher at a school on the outskirts of the French capital, Paris, had shown insulting sketches of the Prophet Muhammad in his class. A Chechen student was enraged and attacked the Frenchman last Friday. French President Emmanuel Macron has defended the slain teacher in the name of freedom of expression. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Friday condemned the brutal killing of the French teacher. At the same time, it has sharply criticized the legitimacy of insulting any religion in the name of freedom of expression.
According to the report, meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister met with the French Ambassador today (Sunday). He condemned the murder of October 16 and said that he did not use any form of religion in any official or political discourse. Insult should be avoided so that it does not promote hatred, enmity and racism.
Now that these insulting sketches have resurfaced, there has been a wave of outrage in the Muslim world, with calls for a boycott of French products. A new diplomatic dispute has arisen between France and Turkey over the issue, and France Has recalled its ambassador from Turkey.
The next day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoآنan said of his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron that he needed psychological help.
