Beirut blasts kill 4, injure 50

A bomb blast near the northern city of Beirut has killed at least four Iraqi people and injured 50 others, officials say.

A powerful explosion at a fuel depot in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Friday night killed at least four people and injured more than 50, Sputnik reports, according to Lebanon's Al-Jadeed TV channel. Happened in the densely populated area of ​​Tariq al-Jadeeda.

According to the occupants of the building, the landlord kept diesel in the building and according to other sources, several drums of petrol were kept in the depot.

Earlier in August, an explosion at the port of Beirut shook the city.

The mayor of Beirut, Marwan Abboud, has said that the buildings around the blast have been evacuated. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
