The second season of the American TV channel CW's Bat Woman series is going to be released soon with a new and first black main character, the first glimpse of which has also come to light.
In the show, Javisia Leslie will play the role of Ryan Wilder aka Beat Woman, a new addition to the DC family.
German-born actress Javisia Leslie said in an Instagram post that she will make her DC Comics debut this month.
Her role as Bat Woman is the first of its kind to be played by a black woman and has been redesigned by Maya Mani, the official designer of Bat Woman Costumes.
"I felt it was important that people could tell from the picture that the well-fitting and beautifully curly-haired bat woman was a black girl, and we certainly did," Variety reported.
Carolyn Dries, executive producer, said the suit suits Ryan Wilder's role, giving him a sense of his power and how he can benefit everyone in Gotham City (Batman's fictional city).
In the early stages of Season 2, she will wear Kate Kane's costume, after which she will appear as a Bat Woman after fully accepting her role.
"We can redesign this concept because it represents a powerful and strong character," he said.
The colors of the costume were finalized after various prototypes and trials, and according to Javisia Leslie, this thing also impressed her.
"I'm glad Ryan is becoming her own bat woman, it's her style, her style and her moment," said Caroline Dries.
This adaptation was necessary for his role as it highlights his qualities as an athlete, expert fighter and a deep and passionate character.
In the past, the role of CW's Beat Woman was played by well-known actress Ruby Rose, who became famous for her role in Orange from the New Black.
"Black Woman, I mean Bat Woman is here," Javisia Leslie wrote in an Instagram post.
