A guard at the French consulate in Saudi Arabia was stabbed and wounded.
According to foreign media, a man attacked the guard of the French consulate in Jeddah with a knife, injuring him. According to a statement issued by the French embassy, Saudi security forces arrested the attacker on the spot, while the injured guard was taken to hospital where his condition is out of danger.
Neither Saudi nor French officials have identified the attacker or given a motive for the attack.
