Automobile company Suzuki has developed a device to reduce marine pollution by removing small pieces of plastic from the sea.
According to the international website, Japan's Suzuki Motors has announced that it has developed a device that enables the motor installed outside the boats to collect microplastics.
Microplastics are tiny pieces of plastic, because they are so small that they easily pass through any type of filter plant and enter lakes and rivers from where they become a threat to marine life.
Suzuki has been researching for years to solve the problem of water pollution caused by plastic waste.
According to the automobile company, it focuses on motorized boats outside ships and ships that pump tons of water to keep the engine cool.
Suzuki's new device will filter out water from these pumps and collect waste in the water. According to the company, just boating will allow microplastics to accumulate on the surrounding water surface.
On Tuesday, Suzuki's crew tested a new device on Lake Hamana in Shizuoka Prefecture. In addition to microplast believed components, the tool also collected moss and sand.
Suzuki plans to launch the new device within the next year.
