A legal battle has been declared between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and former Pakistan cricket team captain Saleem Malik, stating that the applicant is not an NOC for a job in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). While the PCB cannot use the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the applicant without verification of the original tapes of the transcript.
According to details, Justice (retd) Fazal Miran Chauhan, a former judge of the Lahore High Court, ruled on the appeal for the clearance certificate of Saleem Malik as an independent adjudicator. Saleem Malik had filed an appeal against the transcript of an April 2000 conversation provided by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In the 11-page judgment, Justice Chauhan wrote that the petitioner (Saleem Malik) was seeking a PCB clearance certificate from the PCB on the issue of match-fixing or betting and his request was unnatural.
The decision said that on the one hand, the applicants are applying for a job in a cricket academy set up under the Topi CB and on the other hand, they are also seeking NOC from the PCB, so this application cannot be accepted. The applicant has to behave well, the applicant cannot ask for NOC for the job in PCB, therefore this appeal is disposed of and PCB does not use this transcript against the applicant without verifying the original tapes. The PCB may decide on the applicant's application for a batting coach.
On the other hand, PCB legal adviser Tafazul Rizvi says that the Independent Adjudicator has disposed of Saleem Malik's appeal and Justice (retd) Fazal Miran Chauhan has clarified that Saleem Malik's request for issuance of NOC cannot be granted. Yes, for that Saleem has to present a better attitude to the country. It is worth mentioning here that former captain Saleem Malik claims that this decision confirms his position that this transcript is not correct.
