5 killed in Algeria blast

Algeria: Five people have been killed in a gas explosion in a North African country.

According to a report by a foreign news agency, the explosions caused by the gas leak were heard in the northwestern part of the North African country of Algeria on Saturday.

National media say 16 people were injured and several were killed in Saturday's blasts.

The Algerian Interior Ministry said the blasts took place in the city of Algiers, 550 kilometers from the city of Al Bayd.

President Al-Majid Taboon expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the incident and ordered all necessary steps to be taken to treat the injured.

It should be noted that a gas leak explosion in Iran, a major country in the Middle East, has recently claimed five lives, while an explosion in a bevel tank in Lebanon has claimed the lives of four people.
