What is the danger sign of dizziness while standing?

Most people feel dizzy when they stand up after sitting for a long time. Experts say that such people have a higher risk of developing dementia in old age.

According to a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Neurology, dizziness after standing is called orthostatic hypotension.

This is because some people lose their blood pressure when they stand up after sitting for a long time.

Lara Rauch, head of research and a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, says blood pressure should be monitored while standing. He believes that this particular condition is related to the ability to think and memory as we age.

For the study, U.S. experts examined more than 2,000 people aged 72 or older who did not have dementia.

Specialists monitored their blood pressure for 3 to 5 years, according to experts who were suffering from orthostatic hypotension and were at high risk of developing dementia.

Twenty-two percent of them developed dementia during the study.

According to experts, in addition to monitoring blood pressure as a whole, many problems can be avoided if it is monitored during different conditions.
