The woman who cut off her own hand for the greed of insurance money was punished

A court in the Republic of Slovenia has sentenced a woman and her two accomplices to life in prison for cutting off their hands to obtain insurance money.

According to a report by the French news agency, a woman from Slovenia, a member of the European Union and an independent democratic country bordering the Alps, cut off her hand along with two colleagues to get insurance money.

The 22-year-old woman was identified as Julia Adlisch, who, along with a friend, cut off her left arm with an electric saw and then demanded payment from insurance companies.

The woman had her hand amputated last year and she hoped insurance companies would pay one million euros. When Julia applied to the insurance companies, they investigated the incident as a pre-payment procedure.

A year ago, Julia also had legal agreements with five different insurance companies regarding her life and possible disability. According to the report, if the woman's hand had been amputated in the event of an accident, she would have been paid by the insurance companies.

During the interrogation, Julia revealed that she had arranged the program with her friend and her father. The boy cut off his hand and then took him to the hospital with his father. Upon arrival at the hospital, the girl told doctors that the accident happened while cutting the branches of a tree and her left hand was cut off.

When the woman was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition, the doctors informed the police about the incident. The doctor suspected that the two men had left the woman's severed hand at home.

When the police started investigating the incident, the matter turned out to be suspicious, after which statements were taken from all the accused one by one. Investigators seized the boy's laptop and found evidence that led to links to the incident.

The investigating officer said that the boy had also obtained information on the internet about how a disabled person works if a prosthetic hand is used.

The girl, friend and her father confessed to the crime before the police after which they were produced before the magistrate in the court. The accused also confessed their crime here.

The court has sentenced three accused to imprisonment. "I know what happened to me, my life was ruined and I became disabled at a young age," she said after the court ruling.

The court sentenced Julia to two years in prison for criminal attempted financial fraud. Julia's friend was also sentenced to three years in prison and the boy's father to one year in prison for co-crime.

Judge Marietta Doornick wrote in her ruling that the sentences handed down to the three convicts were appropriate and that they and others should learn from them.
