A student at a private university in Jordan set himself on fire.
According to international media reports, the student set himself on fire after the university administration refused to defer payment dates.
Eyewitnesses said that the reason for the self-immolation by the student was the refusal of the university administration to extend the date of fees and the authorities also refused to meet the student.
The Ministry of Higher Education said that a report on the tragic incident at Al-Asra University has been sought from Sheikh Al-Jamia and efforts are being made to find out the motives behind the self-immolation.
The ministry says steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future as such incidents are dangerous signals.
According to reports, the student's body was burnt due to the fire and he is undergoing treatment in the Burns Department of Al-Husseini Medical City in critical condition.
