Saudi Arabia plans to acquire nuclear power.

Raphael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said Saudi Arabia was planning to acquire nuclear energy and was cooperating.

According to the news agency Reuters, Saudi TV Al-Akhbariya claimed that IAEA chief Rafael Grossi had said that "Saudi Arabia is interested in nuclear energy and we are working to provide the required cooperation."

Saudi Arabia has said it wants to acquire nuclear technology and that its goals are peaceful.

Regarding nuclear energy, Saudi Arabia has said that nuclear power will be used to further innovate its energy sector.

Remember that Pakistan is the first country in the Muslim world to achieve nuclear power and in 1998 nuclear explosions were carried out.

It may be recalled that in April this year, the Arab News Agency had said in a report that according to the American agency Bloomberg, Saudi Arabia is about to complete the first nuclear plant near its capital Riyadh.

The report said the first Saudi nuclear plant, King Abdulaziz Science and Technology City, was located southwest of Riyadh and was nearing completion, according to Google Earth images.

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly expressed its desire to acquire nuclear energy.

According to the report, countries seeking nuclear energy at the international level ensure that the nuclear energy program is for peaceful purposes only and is not used to make an atomic bomb.

The report quoted Raphael Grossi as saying that an IAEA official had said that Saudi Arabia would have to take additional measures and sign a full guarantee agreement before acquiring nuclear fuel.
