Iran has announced that it will avenge the martyrdom of Maj. Gen. Qasim Soleimani, Commander-in-Chief of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
According to Al Jazeera, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Hussein Salami, in his speech directly addressing US President Donald Trump, said that we are sure to avenge the martyrdom of our great general. He further added that this is true and serious.
Hussain Salami said that we will directly target those who are involved in the martyrdom of a great personality like General Qasim Soleimani.
General Qasim Soleimani, considered to be Iran's second most influential man, was killed in a drone strike on January 3 in the United States, along with Iraqi militia commander Abu Mehdi al-Mohandes and other members of the Guards.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed after the attack that Iran would retaliate. Your words were "revenge, hard". The same commitment has now been reiterated by General Hussain Soleimani on Saturday, September 19, that the perpetrators of this operation will be avenged.
It should be noted that even before the funeral of General Qasim Soleimani, Iran had fired more than a dozen rockets at two US military bases in Iraq.
Hussein Salami's threat came after US media reported that Iran was plotting to avenge Qasim Soleimani by assassinating US Ambassador to South Africa Lana Marks, according to unnamed sources.
President Trump recently warned Iran that any attempt to retaliate would be met with a harsh response. In his tweet, Trump said that if there was an attack on the United States, we would target Iran a thousand times more.
However, Hussein Soleimani, referring to 66-year-old former fashion designer and US ambassador Lana Marks, said he was not a suitable target.
"Do you think we will avenge our martyred brother with a female ambassador?" He asked.
