PEMRA also banned the Bol Channel program 'Tik Tok Show'

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has imposed a complete ban on the Tick Talk Show program for broadcasting inappropriate content.

In a press release issued in this regard, PEMRA said that complaints were being received from viewers on the Pakistan Citizen Portal and PEMRA's social media accounts on the content aired on Bol Entertainment.

PEMRA said that the channel was issued a show cause notice for airing videos / content based on highly inappropriate, vulgar, obscene and Indian music in the program Tik Tak Show.

The press release said that the notice had warned the channel to review the content of the program and arrange the program in accordance with Pakistani values, otherwise action would be taken under the PEMRA Ordinance.

However, despite PEMRA's warning, Bol Entertainment continued to broadcast inappropriate tick-talk videos in the program, which led to a ban on airing tick-talk shows under Section 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance.

It may be recalled that the drama serial Jalna was immediately banned from airing content against social and religious values.

PEMRA had said that the management of the channel was repeatedly warned to review the content of the play and bring the script in line with Pakistani values otherwise action would be taken.

Earlier on September 4, PEMRA had banned the re-broadcasting of drama serials 'Eshqiya' and 'Pyar Ke Sadqa' for airing content contrary to 'social and religious values'.

PEMRA had banned the recurrence of both dramas not only on ARY Digital, Hum TV but also on ARY Zindagi and Hum Sitara.

Keep in mind that TikTak is a Chinese social networking application that allows users to create video clips, lip sync songs and make short videos.

The popular video sharing application Tik Tak is very popular in many countries of the world including Pakistan and people of all ages keep uploading their videos on it.

However, many tragic incidents have also come to light regarding the video on this app, in which many lives have been lost due to being hit by a train or being shot while making a tick-tock video.

Last month, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) also demanded from Tik Tak to remove obscene, immoral and inappropriate content in Pakistan.

Earlier in July, the PTA issued a "final warning" to the video app after receiving numerous complaints from various sections of society regarding the obscene and immoral content on Tik Tak and its extremely negative impact on the younger generation.
