Operation Dwarka: How Pakistan Navy surprised India on 8th September 1965.

Ever since the formation of Pakistan, this country had to face a fanatical enemy like India. On a dark night in September 1965, the Indian forces made a vicious attempt to kill Pakistan at night and opened a new front of war.

Under the nefarious plan of annihilation of Pakistan, India tried to inflict heavy damage on Pakistan through air, air and naval strikes. However, the cowardly war frenzy of India was degraded when Enthusiastic, courageous, fearless and martyred soldiers gritted the teeth of the Indians.

In this battle of truth and falsehood, while Pakistan's evil and air forces thwarted the Indian attacks and in retaliation broke the backs of the Indian forces, the Pakistani navy fully defended the maritime and coastal borders of the Indian Navy. Dusted.

When the Pakistan High Command came to know that the radar station on the coast of Dwarka in India was providing full guidance to the Indian Air Force, thanks to which the Indian Air Force was carrying out continuous attacks, the top leadership of the Pakistan Navy decided that Dwarka radar station should be destroyed to neutralize the attacks of the Indian Air Force and to adopt an aggressive naval strategy to force the Indian Navy to withdraw from Bombay so that it could be the target of the Pakistan Navy submarine.

In order to assess the importance of the Duraka operation by the Pakistan Navy, it is necessary to know the defensive position of Dwarka for India.

Dwarka is located about 350 km from Karachi. Dwarka had the status of a defensive fortress of India. The powerful radar system installed here alerted the Indian Air Force against any external attack and during the war the Pakistani coastline was aerial. Support for attacks was also obtained from the same radar system, so Operation Dwarka became central to the 1965 war, as the destruction of Dwarka was the only way to break the nexus of the Indian Navy and Air Force and inflict heavy blows on their defense systems. ۔

During the highly sensitive operation in Dwarka, the Pakistan Navy fleet had to infiltrate into Indian waters and the air force was not provided with any air support in this mission. Done, the Navy completed the operation by estimating the bus directions.

Seven naval warships were dispatched in the operation. Pakistan Navy added its most effective and state-of-the-art submarine Ghazi in the naval mission. The Pakistan Navy is the first force to introduce submarine service in the region.

Ghazi's entry marked a decisive victory for the Pakistan Navy in its 1965 war against rival India. One of the benefits of launching Pakistan's state-of-the-art submarine Ghazi into Indian waters was that if the Indian Navy's fleet retaliated, Ghazi could destroy the enemy's fleet.

In the 1965 war, while India carried out air strikes on other cities, including Sargodha, the city of Karachi, a major port city on the coast, the center of Pakistan's economic activities, was targeted by the Indian Air Force. It was pointed out that the Indian Navy was providing full support to its air force.

The seven warships of the Pakistan Navy set out on their mission on September 6. The mission was not an easy one but the veterans of the Navy, trusting in Allah, entered the Indian waters without fear and danger. The difficult journey of becoming began.

There were dark night patrols all over the Indian Ocean but the hearts of the navy soldiers were enlightened by the light of truth. Their only mission was to destroy the enemy's radar system and close the chapter of air strikes on Pakistan and the Indian Navy. It is to demoralize them so much that they cannot look up to Pakistan, including the maritime borders.

This voyage in Indian territorial waters was carried out in terms of directions. If the direction was miscalculated, the plan would have failed and the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Army would have suffered a great loss.

At around 11 pm, the Indian Navy's warship INS Talwar was spotted at sea, but the terror of the Pakistan Navy ships forced him to flee, and then the time came when the Pakistan Navy fleet Dwarka came so close to the coast that the whole city was under artillery fire.

At 12:26 pm, the naval artillery started firing. In a few minutes, the Pakistan Navy fired 50, 50 rounds and did not give the enemy a single chance to recover, a few shells in a row. Within minutes, the radar station was completely destroyed with the deaths of Indian officers and soldiers on duty.

The Indian Navy airport at Dwarka was also disrupted and the destruction of the radar station blocked the route of Indian air strikes, the runway was also completely destroyed and thus the Pakistan Navy entered the Indian territory of Dwarka. The bricks of the radar station were torn down and the Indian Navy suffered a historic defeat at the hands of the Pakistan Navy while the prestige of the Pakistan Navy was further enhanced.
