Lebanon: Terrible fire erupts a month after worst blast in Beirut port.

A month after the worst bombing in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, which claimed hundreds of lives, a terrible fire broke out again.

According to the report of AP news agency, the fire in Beirut port spread fear and panic among the citizens.

The cause of the blast was not immediately clear, while an explosion at an ammonium nitrate and explosives depot last month killed at least 200 people and injured thousands.

According to the report, a fire broke out in Beirut port at noon, flames rose and smoke engulfed the whole of Beirut, but rescue workers and firefighters rushed to the scene.

Civilian administration as well as military helicopters took part in fighting the blaze.

A statement from the Lebanese army said the fire broke out in a warehouse where oil and tires were stored and the area was duty-free.

Efforts are being made to contain the fire, the statement said.

The eyewitness said that at the time of the incident, we were sitting in the corridor with the windows open in our house and still felt the earthquake.

A video circulating on social media shows the workers fleeing in fear as soon as the port catches fire.

Security personnel deployed near the scene diverted traffic.
