In India, a mother killed her 14-year-old friend for Rs 500.
According to Indian media reports, a 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his friend's mother in Odisha's Mayurbanj district for allegedly stealing Rs 500.
The slain Rajan, a deaf seventh grader, had gone to his friend's house on Tuesday to visit him.
According to police, 36-year-old Sasmita alleged that Rajan was not there when he came to her house and Rs 500 was missing when she returned home.
According to the investigating officer, the accused first inquired about the money from her son and then called Rajan. When she came to know about Rajan's arrival during her absence, she accused Rajan of stealing.
Police say the woman called her son and called him to Rajan's house and beat him to death with sticks.
Police said that the body of the slain boy has been shifted to the hospital for postmortem while the accused has been arrested and a case has been registered under the provisions of murder.
