Hurricane Sally wreaked havoc in the United States

Hurricane Sally devastated the coastal states of Florida and Alabama in the United States, increasing the risk of the worst flooding in areas affected by torrential rains.

According to foreign media, more than half a million people lost power in the coastal areas due to the Category Two intensity storm with winds of 105 miles per hour.

In the affected areas, power poles fell and trees were uprooted, while roads were submerged in several feet of water, disrupting traffic.

Eighteen inches of torrential rain has also been recorded in the area.

Authorities have instructed people in the affected area not to leave their homes unnecessarily.

The Meteorological Department has forecast up to three feet of rain under the storm.
