According to the details, the European Union Parliament has removed Aung San Suu Kyi, a female leader of Myanmar, from the Sakharov Prize Community.

The European Parliament's decision comes in the wake of Sochi's stance and its failure to curb rising crime against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

It should be noted that Sochi was in political captivity for a long time before he came to power. He was praised around the world for his non-violent struggle against military rule. He was also awarded the Nobel Prize in 1991, but Rohingya Muslims But Sochi faced severe international criticism after its life was cut short.

It should be noted that in 2017, as a result of the brutal actions of the army, about 700,000 Rohingya Muslims were forced to migrate to the neighboring country of Bangladesh. On the other hand, Sochi, which is considered to be the flag bearer of democracy, remained silent on this issue. He was criticized.

A statement from parliament said the decision against Sochi was taken in response to the government's failure to stop crimes against Rohingya Muslims and its acceptance of crimes against the Rohingya community.

Refugees in Myanmar are considered to be deprived of their civil liberties, and the citizenship of 600,000 Rohingya living in Myanmar has been revoked.
