California: A forest fire engulfed 22,000 acres

A 2-day wildfire in California has engulfed 22,000 acres, injuring 12 people.

The blaze near San Bernardino raised the city's temperature to 47 degrees Celsius, and more than 200 people trapped in the area were evacuated by helicopter.

Two people were seriously injured and 10 suffered minor injuries in the blaze. Strong winds are causing the fire to spread.

Forest fires in 900 places in California since August 15 have burned 1.5 million acres and damaged 3,300 homes. Eight people have been killed in various accidents due to fire.
