Young Indian cricketer Kiran Tiwari has allegedly committed suicide. He embraced death, possibly because he did not get an IPL contract.
Kiran Tiwari's body was found hanging from the roof of his house on Monday. Kiran Tiwari, 27, had competed in major competitions, including the Ranji Trophy.
The Mumbai Cricket Association said in a statement on Wednesday that the young cricketer had committed suicide. The statement said Tiwari was residing in the village of Gauri in Goklungar in eastern India and his body was recovered from the same house. Police registered a case of accidental death of the player at Korar police station and started investigation into the incident.
According to a friend of Kiran Tiwari, the club cricketer was disappointed not to be a part of any of the eight teams in the IPL. He was also called Jr. Dale Steyn because his bowling action was similar to that of the famous cricketer Dale Steyn.
