What are the risks of regular use of sanitizer?

The Corona virus epidemic has made alcohol-based cleaning solutions such as sanitizers and cleaning gels an integral part of our lives, but experts have recently warned of its dangerous implications.

Dr Andrew Kemp of the British Institute of Cleaning Sciences says that excessive use of sanitizers will make it more resistant to germs and viruses, after which they will become so powerful that sanitizers will be ineffective. will be done.

Dr. Kemp says that other germs on our hands will gradually adapt to the sanitizer and thus it will be ineffective on them.

"If that happened then the germs and viruses would be invincible and we would be medically at war," he said.

According to Dr. Kemp, with the spread of the corona virus, the use of sanitizers has become a part of our lives. There are sanitizers everywhere that we are using indiscriminately.

According to him, we should give priority to hand washing instead of using sanitizers and alcohol gel. Soap and water wash away germs and viruses and they are not harmful to us.

In addition, sanitizers and cleaning gels should be used where clean water and soap are not available.

Dr. Kemp says that if a cleansing solution claims to eliminate 99.9% of germs from our hands, the remaining 0.1% of germs could still be in the thousands, and those germs and viruses that survive alcohol can It's not hard to imagine how dangerous they can be.

Dr. Kemp will also present his research at an international conference in October.
