The second phase of C-Pack has started

 

ISLAMABAD: Chairman C-Pac Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that the second phase of C-Pac has started in which the economic benefits of the project will be delivered to the people of Pakistan. The economic benefits will reach the people. He made the remarks while presiding over an online dialogue organized by the Policy Institute for Sustainable Development (SDPI) entitled 'Gwadar Port, and the Role of Free Economic Zones in Integrating Balochistan and the Region'. He said an agreement on the Rashkai Free Economic Zone would be signed in the third week of August.

Referring to Afghan transit trade, he said it was now moving towards Gwadar. The Gwadar port and airport are now fully open and the completion of the Gwadar District Economic Zone is in full swing.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing said on the occasion that various departments of the Government of Pakistan, including the C-Pac Authority, have played an important role in the speedy completion of the project and investors flocked to Gwadar after the announcement of tax concessions. He said that the Chinese government would further expand cooperation with Pakistan for the development of not only Gwadar but the whole of Balochistan.
