Al-Arabiya reports that the Palestinians later reacted strongly to the agreement and protested against the UAE's decision last week.
According to the report, Palestinians staged protests against the agreement in occupied Jerusalem and other Palestinian territories, during which the UAE national flag was allegedly burned.
Soha Arafat, the widow of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, shared a post on social media app Instagram in which she apologized to the UAE for the reaction of the Palestinians and said: I apologize to the leadership for burning their national flag.
"Disagreements should never be allowed to harm friendship," he added.
Soha Arafat also shared photos of the meeting between her late husband and the late ruler of the UAE Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

According to the widow of the late Palestinian leader, people need to study history and learn more about the UAE, how the Arab country has helped the Palestinian people in the past and how it has helped them today. Support for their mission continues.
According to the report, Soha Arafat added, "If any Palestinian has caused any harm to the people of the UAE, I apologize to the leadership and people of the UAE."
Yasser Arafat died in 2004 at a Palestinian military hospital after a long illness.
In August 2012, French investigators launched an investigation into Yasser Arafat's death, alleging that he had died from the poisonous polonium poisoning.
Allegations of poisoning Yasser Arafat, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, surfaced when Al Jazeera News Channel aired an investigative report into his death.
In the report, Swiss experts said that they found polonium in the items used by the deceased during the investigation.
Polonium is a highly toxic element, which is hardly found anywhere other than in the military and scientific circles.
Later, in November 2013, Swiss scientists made important revelations about the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, saying that he had died of poisoning.

UAE-Israel peace deal
It should be noted that a 'peace agreement' was signed between the United Arab Emirates and Israel last week under which diplomatic relations between the two countries will be restored.
Reports of the deal said Israel would delay its plan for unilateral annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank, but the Israeli prime minister later rejected such reports, saying the annexation plan was still under consideration.
Announcing the agreement, the US president said that the Israeli and UAE delegations would sign bilateral agreements in the coming weeks on investment, tourism, direct flights, security and the establishment of mutual embassies.
The US President had predicted that other countries in the region would follow in the footsteps of the UAE.
It should be noted that Israel occupied East Jerusalem during the 6-day Arab-Israeli War of 1967 and later annexed it, which was never recognized by the international community.
Israel makes the entire city its capital, while the Palestinians see East Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.

The peace talks between Israel and Palestine ended in 2014, while Palestine rejected the peace plan before it was presented by Trump.
Palestine and the international community have declared Israeli settlements illegal under the 1949 Geneva Convention, which deals with land occupied during the war, while Israel has Jerusalem as its capital.
It should be noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had announced several times that the plan to expand Israel to the Free Palestinian Territories and its integration into the state of Israel would begin in the cabinet on July 1, but it was postponed.
It should be noted that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had said on April 23 that if the occupied West Bank was integrated into Israel, the agreement reached between the Palestinian Authority and Israel and the United States would be considered completely canceled.
