Protests erupt in Lebanon, with protesters occupying the Foreign Ministry building

 

Lebanon has been plunged into political instability following a bomb blast in Beirut, with thousands of citizens protesting against the government. A policeman was killed in the clashes, and citizens blamed the government for the blast at the port.

The Beirut bombing shook Lebanon's political foundations, with the people blaming the rulers for the bombing and demanding the resignation of the government. It was declared the center of the revolution, several government buildings were set on fire, and a policeman was killed in an attack by angry mobs.

Attempts to seize parliament were thwarted by forces, who used tear gas and batons to disperse the angry crowd. Protesters also stormed the headquarters of the Banks Association and set fire to a section, injuring more than 100 people in clashes between forces and civilians. People chased them away. The blast injured about 6,000 people and left 30,000 homeless, according to the latest figures.
