Rath Katherine was left in the eastern part of Germany, which was under Russian rule. Conditions there were not good, so she somehow moved from the eastern part to the western part in 1948, which was under American occupation.

Rath Katherina Fau studied there, even after completing her modern education in 1950, she did not find peace and her heart began to be restless.

Dr. Rath Katherine Fau was prepared by the organization to be sent to the newly independent country of India in 1960, but due to lack of visa there, she was sent to the new country of Pakistan and then she remained here.

Although Dr. Rath Fau was born and raised in Germany, she is known as a Pakistani social worker and Pakistani mother Teresa.

Not only was she the founder of the Mary Adelaide Leprosy Center (MLAC), an organization working to eradicate leprosy in Pakistan, but she was also the founder of the German organization Daughter of the Heart Mary. Be a member of HM) till death.

Initially, the organization provided humanitarian services only in France, after which its scope of work expanded to other European countries.

The organization increased its number of volunteers and sent workers wherever anyone needed them.

It was in this context that the organization sent Dr. Rath Fau to Pakistan.

Arrival in Pakistan

Dr. Rath Fau arrived in Pakistan on March 8, 1960 and as soon as he arrived, he started working to control leprosy.

The next two years later, in 1962, Dr. Rath Khethrina Fau opened a medical center to properly treat leprosy, although she initially had some problems, but she did not give up and then went to a local hospital to help her. Personalities also came forward.

By 1963, Dr. Rath Fau had succeeded in setting up an 80-bed Leprosy Center in Karachi. Over the next two years, she set up the National Training Institute of Leprosy to train volunteers to treat leprosy.

Dr. Rath Fau worked very fast despite the limited resources given the seriousness of leprosy in Pakistan. In 1966, she visited Karachi and other parts of Sindh, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (then the province of NWFP). He also set up Leprosy Centers. In 1967, he also started setting up centers in Azad Kashmir.

Dr. Rath Fau was first awarded the Order of the Cross by Germany in 1968 for his work in overcoming rapid leprosy. In 1969, she was also awarded the Star of Quaid-e-Azam by the Government of Pakistan.

Dr. Rath Fau continued to serve humanity and also established a Leprosy Center in Balochistan in 1979. While she helped leprosy patients, she also helped control TB after leprosy. He also started efforts and started TB control service in 1975.

In recognition of Dr. Rath Fau's services, the government of Pakistan awarded her the Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 1978 and then in 1979 she was appointed by the government as the Federal Adviser on Leprosy.

Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Rathfau, the innovative method of treating leprosy, 'Multi-Drug Therapy', was introduced in 1983. In 1985, she was awarded 'The Commanders Cross of the Order of Merit with Star' by Germany for his services in Pakistan. Awarded.

Dr. Rath Fau started a blindness treatment service for TB and leprosy patients in 1987, and the following year she published a book, To Light a Candle, to raise awareness about the disease. ۔
