Norwegian police have arrested an Indian spy based in Norway who confessed to the crime during interrogation.
According to international media reports, Norwegian police took notice of the suspicious activities of Harsharan Singh, a 50-year-old Indian citizen, who was sitting in an important meeting on Saturday.
Police arrested a man named Harsharan on suspicion and recovered important documents from him.
The accused confessed to spying during the interrogation and told the officers that he had contacts and meetings with the Indian intelligence agencies. In each meeting, he provided important information along with documents to the intelligence agencies. Harsharan told Norwegian police he received a large sum of money for espionage.
Police produced the accused in court after interrogation where the court indicted Harsharan and remanded him to police for four weeks.
According to Norwegian media reports, Harsharan could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
