Former Chief Minister of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and President of the National Conference Farooq Abdullah has said that India has dug its own grave by ending the special status of the region on August 5, 2019.
According to a report by Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah said in an interview to media in Srinagar that India made Kashmir an international issue on August 5 last year and dug its own hands with its own hands which had never happened before.
"One of the great things that has happened since the end of special status is that Kashmir has become an international issue. The Indian government is not capable of ending this issue," he said.
The former chief minister of the Occupied Territories said "there have been three debates in the UN Security Council since then and this dialogue will continue."
He also referred to the statement of US presidential candidate Joe Biden in which he demanded restoration of special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
"He is fighting for the presidency of the United States and has said on record that the status of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir should be restored and the barbaric attacks on them should be stopped," said Farooq Abdullah.
He said that Joe Biden also said that Kashmiris should be given freedom like any other and now similar voices are coming from China and he has openly said that Article 370 should be restored.
The head of the National Conference said, "This is the same China whose Prime Minister was visiting India, but is now speaking openly for us."
Farooq Abdullah called the foreign delegates who visited the occupied valley this year puppets.
"These people taste Kashmiri food and are happy to walk around Dal Lake and understand that the situation in the entire valley is no different," he said.
It may be recalled that on August 5 last year, the Modi government not only divided occupied Kashmir into two federal units instead of a state, but also allowed non-Kashmiris to buy land there to change the proportion of the valley's population.
India imposed curfew in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 and during the lockdown suspended mobile network and internet service and proposed a formula to divide Kashmir by removing Articles 370 and 35A from Parliament and the resolution passed by a majority. Was approved on the basis of
The Indian president had signed an ordinance repealing Articles 370 and 35A, but it was implemented in October last year, after which Kashmir was divided into two parts.
The implementation of the orders of the Indian government started from 12 noon on October 30, with which occupied Jammu and Kashmir was transformed into two federal units, one of which is Jammu and Kashmir and the other is the Buddhist-majority Ladakh region.
Both areas will be ruled by New Delhi and a new lieutenant governor will be appointed by the central government.
The Indian government had deployed additional military and paramilitary forces in the occupied valley in protest of the move, and hundreds of Kashmiris have been killed in the past year.
