Police have completed an investigation into the suicide of a female doctor in the Defense area of Karachi and say that Dr Maha was suffering from severe depression and was talking about ending her life.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Shiraz Nazir said police had completed their four-day investigation into the female doctor's suicide.
He said that two accused have been arrested on the charge of providing pistol to the deceased Maha Ali Shah. The 9mm pistol belonged to Saad Siddiqui which was brought to Maha by Tabish Qureshi on demand.
He said that when Dr. Maha came back from the duty of the private hospital, she was very depressed. She was lying in the room with her sister while her father Asif Shah also came and lay down on the bed in the same room.
SSP South said that Dr. Maha Bahana went to the bathroom and closed the door and took a shower, after which he sat against the wall in the bathroom and shot himself with a 9mm pistol.

He said that the bullet crossed his head and got stuck in the wall of which the police obtained evidence. Hearing the sound of the bullet, the father ran away, made noise and broke the bathroom door together with his daughter.
He said that under the shower in the bathroom, Maha was addicted to blood and his head was on the commode.
Shiraz Nazir said that the father called helper 15 and called his close friend Dr. Zahra. Dr. Maha was shifted to the hospital where he died after a few hours of treatment.
He said that Dr. Maha Ali Shah was suffering from severe depression and used to talk about killing herself, while the investigation against the characters involved in the suicide was underway.
It should be noted that the incident of suicide of a female doctor in Defense took place on August 19.
Regarding the incident that took place in DHA Phase 4, the police said that Dr. Maha Ali Shah, 24, shot himself over some domestic dispute and ended his life.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Clifton Imran Mirza said the female doctor shot herself in the head on Tuesday night, after which she was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).
In this regard, JPMC Executive Director Dr. Sami Jamali said that when the young doctor was brought to the hospital, his condition was critical and he died an hour later.
SP Imran Mirza said that the deceased woman was working at South City Hospital in Clifton while she belonged to Mirpur Khas.
