As a result of the recent devastating rains in Shar-e-Quaid, the Hub Dam has been filled. For the first time in the last 13 years, the Hub Dam has been filled to its full capacity. After filling the dam, water has started leaking from the spillways.

The Hub Dam, which supplies surplus drinking water to Karachi, including parts of Balochistan, was completely flooded as a result of recent rains. For the first time in 13 years, the water level in Hub Dam has crossed the 338-foot mark.

WAPDA sources said that the water level in Hub Dam has risen by 8 feet during the last 3 days while the water level in Hub Dam has risen by 2 feet in the last one night. Is. During the recent monsoon, a total of 30 feet of water has come into the Hub Dam. If the water level rises too high, the emergency gates of the dam can also be opened.

According to WAPDA official Sohail Siddiqui, one of the canals coming out of Hub Dam supplies water to the areas of Balochistan while the other canal supplies 100 million gallons of water daily to the western areas of Karachi. At present, the amount of water stored in Hub Dam is sufficient for the needs of the city leader for the next 3 years.

On the other hand, the sources said that due to the rains that started in the evening, the water deficit in Hub Dam has been met and now the discharge of water from the spillways of the dam has started.
