Disagreements between the UAE and Israel have surfaced just days after relations were restored. The United States wants to sell modern F-35s to the United Arab Emirates, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has opposed a possible deal between the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
Opposition to the deal has cost Israel dearly, and now the UAE has canceled a scheduled meeting with US and Israeli officials on Friday in protest. The United States has provided state-of-the-art F-35s to Israel, Japan and South Korea, and Israel to the United Arab Emirates. It opposes the sale of these aircraft to other Gulf countries, including the UAE, in order to maintain its superiority over the Middle East.
