According to details, four terrorists attacked the Pakistan Stock Exchange this morning with grenades while firing indiscriminately with automatic weapons, killing one policeman, four security guards and one civilian while injuring three others. As soon as the information was received, a heavy contingent of police and Rangers reached the spot. All four attackers were killed in an exchange of fire with the terrorists.
Security forces later cordoned off the area, while investigators began gathering evidence. The Karachi police chief confirmed that the terrorist attack on the stock market was foiled while the four attackers were killed in a timely manner. According to SSP Muqaddas Haider, a policeman, four security guards and a civilian were killed in the incident while the vehicle of the terrorists was seized. The arms recovered included grenades and automatic rifles. According to a statement issued by Sindh Rangers, all the terrorists have been killed after which search and clearance operation is underway. Trading in the stock market is going on as usual, domestic and foreign investors are engaged in trading transactions while trading has not been suspended for a moment.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail strongly condemned the attack on the Karachi Stock Exchange, saying that IG Sindh and security agencies have been ordered to bring the facilitators of the terrorists involved in the attack to justice immediately. We will ensure the protection of the land of Sindh in all cases.
