War-torn India has been embroiled in tensions with China, with an Indian army colonel and two soldiers killed in a clash in Ladakh.
According to Indian media, in view of the continuous escalation of border tensions, senior military officials of the two countries are trying to control the situation by holding talks at a border check post in Ladakh.
According to Indian TV, Indian soldiers were killed in a clash in the Gulwan Valley last night.
A press release issued by the Indian Army said that three Indian Army personnel, including an officer, were killed in a violent clash during an operation in the Gulwan Valley. Top military officials from both countries are currently meeting to defuse tensions.
According to the BBC, a statement issued by the Indian Army said that the clash took place on Monday night in the disputed area of Gulwan Valley where the withdrawal of forces from both sides was underway. Military officials have claimed that the Chinese army was involved in the clash. For the first time in at least 45 years, there have been casualties on the Line of Actual Control.
According to foreign media, thousands of troops have been deployed on the border by both the countries while the armies of both the countries have also transferred heavy and modern weapons on the border which is increasing the chances of war between the two countries.
