The thief's fingers were cut off in Iran

Four fingers of a man's hand were cut off in Iran for theft.

According to the International News Agency, four prisoners of the hand of a citizen were cut off in 28 cases of theft in a prison in northern Iran's Mazandaran province. Under Iranian rules, the right to steal for the first time is to cut four fingers of the right hand, but news of such punishments is not publicized.

Amnesty International, criticized by the Iranian government for cutting the finger of a thief as a punishment for the Iranian government, termed the act a “kabih” and that deliberately disabling and physically disabling someone does not fall into the category of justice.

Despite opposition and criticism of human rights organizations, Iranian authorities defended their move, saying that fear of punishment can be prevented by citizens' fear of punishment, such sentences help keep people out of crime in society are proven.

Earlier in January 2018, Iranian authorities cut a 34-year-old man in northeastern Iran for stealing sheep. Like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Somalia have traditions of punishing them under Islamic sanctions. ۔
