Iraqi security forces opened fire on curfew protesters,
killing four people in 31 cities across the country, including Baghdad.
Anti-government protests turned violent in Iraq, security
forces in Baghdad opened fire on curfew protesters. Four days of protests
spread to different cities. According to the news agency, the death toll has
reached 31 while more than 500 are injured.
Iraqi Prime Minister Abdul Mahdi says the implementation of
indefinite curfews is critical to maintaining peace and protecting protesters.
The Iraqi people are on the streets against corruption, inadequate
infrastructure and unemployment.
