Google detected a serious flaw in the Android system.
Google security researchers have discovered a serious
vulnerability in the Android operating system that can lead to the hacking of
billions of smartphones.
According to the ZDNet report, Google's Project Zero's
security researchers team discovered the error and the phones of affected
companies include Samsung's Galaxy S7, S8 and S9, Huawei's P20 and Google's.
Your pixels 1 and 2 are also included.
An Android spokesman said an attacker could gain full
control of the device by using a suspicious application or program like a web
browser for this purpose.
Google researchers point out that this security error is
likely used or sold by Israeli-based spyware company NSO, which was also
involved in the earlier WhatsApp hacking attack.
The bug was discovered September 27, and researchers now
reveal it to the general consumer, saying the team had given the Android team 7
days to control the bug.
Researchers also discovered that this is the same bug that
was revealed in December 2017 and a security update was issued for it, but it
appeared again in the Android kernel.
Researchers believe the following devices may or may not
have been affected by this hack, Google Pixel 1, Pixel 1 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2
XL, Huawei P20, Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 5A, Xiaomi A1. , Oppo A3, Moto Z3,
Android and LG phones, Samsung Galaxy S7, S8 and S9.
An Android spokeswoman confirmed that it was a serious
problem and that an update had been issued to prevent it, while Android
partners have also been alerted.
