US President Donald Trump, during a meeting with Pakistani
Prime Minister Imran Khan in New York, expressed hope that both Pakistan and
India would work together to resolve their differences on the Kashmir issue.
Addressing a press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister
Imran Khan, Donald Trump said: "I am ready to help and it is up to the two
leaders to ask for mediation. This is a ghastly issue that has been going on
for a long time but I do help. Ready to do. '
US President Donald Trump said: "I trust this Gentleman
and I trust Pakistan because many Pakistanis in New York are my friends who are
very intelligent and good negotiators. "I have a good relationship with India and if they
decide to use the platform, I think it should help," he said.
Imran Khan also said, "I have a great relationship with
Narendra Modi and he and if any time I ask for mediation I will be a
good mediator."
On a question regarding Pakistani actions on terrorism, the
US president said it had made great strides.
On a question related to the human rights situation in
Kashmir, Imran khan said, "I wish everyone in the world well and they are
both big countries."
According to Reuter’s news agency, Imran Khan expressed his
desire that the United States exercise its influence in this matter.
It should be noted that US President Trump also met with
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi this week.
Earlier on Monday, while addressing a joint session with the
Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Secretary General in the think tank
'Council for Foreign Relations' in the United States, Imran Khan answered
questions on various topics.
Imran Khan has said that India is dominated by hate thoughts
and given the situation there, I worry more about India than Pakistan.
Talking about Afghanistan, Imran Khan said that the
impression that the United States was not successful in Afghanistan was because
of Pakistan. Imran Khan said that it was painful for Pakistan that Afghanistan
kept on signing the peace agreement.
Talking about the Afghan peace process, Imran Khan said that
Afghan citizens have been in trouble for the last 40 years and that they told
the Democrats during a visit to the United States in 2008 that war was not the
solution to the Afghan problem.
"In my meeting with President Trump, I will tell him
that the problem of Afghanistan cannot be solved by war. I will try to convince
them that talks with the Afghan Taliban should not be canceled. ”
Talking about the extremist groups in Afghanistan, he said,
"These mujahideen were turned against the Soviet Union and when the Soviet
Union left Afghanistan in 1989, the United States left Pakistan with these
groups."
Imran Khan said that when the 9/11 attacks and the US
stepped into Afghanistan, Pakistan was asked to go against groups that were
trained to fight against foreign forces.
“After September 11, being part of the war on terror was our
biggest mistake. 70,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives in this, while
economists have lost $ 150 to 200 billion.
"The Soviet military killed more than 1 million
civilians in Afghanistan, and now about 2.7 million Afghan refugees are being
made," he said.
Imran Khan had said that if the United States had not been
successful in 19 years in Afghanistan, 19 more years would not have been
successful, and President Trump should have consulted with Pakistan before the
cancellation of talks with the Taliban.
Imran Khan was questioned whether Osama bin Laden had been
investigated in connection with the residence and death of some away from
Pakistan's capital. He said he did not know the result of the investigation.
'I know that the Abbottabad Commission was formed in this
regard, but I am not aware of the result. But what I can say is that the
Pakistan Army and ISI trained Al-Qaeda and other groups to fight in
Afghanistan, so the army must have relations with them. '
"When we changed the policy to 180 degrees after
September 11 and took action against these groups, some constituents, including
some within the military, disagreed. As a result, there were several attacks
inside Pakistan, including two attacks on President General Pervez Musharraf
that were carried out inside the army.
But he said, "There is a statement by President Obama
on the matter that the ISI chief and army chief of Pakistan did not know (about
Osama's presence) in this regard, and if so. If it was, it would be in the
lower circles. '
The Prime Minister said that whenever international
arbitration is talked about on the Kashmir issue, it is regarded by India as a
bilateral issue but after that India refuses to negotiate with Pakistan.
Imran Khan said that the election campaign in India was
aroused by anti-Pakistan sentiments. He said that the Indian government has imposed curfew and
banned 8 million Kashmiris. He called on the international community to
pressure India to end the curfew.
Imran Khan said that India is trying to add Pakistan to the
blacklist of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), while also saying that
"Pakistan will work on any terrorist group on its soil. Will not let you
do it. '
Responding to a question about India, Imran Khan said,
"I am one of the Pakistanis who has loved India so much and because of
India's situation, I worry more about India than Pakistan."
