North Korea test-fired eight short-range ballistic missiles Sunday morning.
According to foreign media reports, this is North Korea's first test of such a large number of missiles at one time.
According to the South Korean military, North Korea tested the missiles from its east coast to the sea. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the eight missiles had a range of 110 to 670 kilometers at an altitude of 25 to 90 kilometers.
The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command has said that North Korea's recent missile test poses no immediate threat, while Japan's defense minister has criticized North Korea's test, saying the missile test cannot be tolerated.
It should be noted that 17 missiles have been tested by North Korea this year.
