5 SpaceX employees fired for writing critical letter against Elon Musk

Rocket company SpaceX has fired at least five employees for writing a letter of criticism against Elon Musk.

A New York Times report quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Elon Musk had been criticized by hundreds of SpaceX employees in an open letter to company officials.

Following the letter, SpaceX fired five employees on June 16.

SpaceX did not respond to a request for comment.

According to the New York Times, Gavin Shotwell, president of SpaceX, said in an email that the company was investigating the letter and that its employees had been fired.

Gavin Shotwell said the fired employees pressured other staff members to sign the letter.

The letter described the behavior of Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, as an embarrassment to the company.

The letter was shared by SpaceX employees in a group chat with the company.
