Defamation case: Johnny Depp's ex-girlfriend will also testify

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation suit will be heard on Monday, May 16, in which actress Alan Barkin and Amber Heard's sister Whitney Henriquez will testify in court.

According to reports, Alan Barkin was in a relationship with actor Johnny Depp. She will testify in court as a witness for Amber Heard via video link while Amber Heard's sister Whitney will be called in person in court.

Both Henriquez and Barkin have previously testified against the British tabloid The Sun on behalf of Amber Heard.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp will once again appear in court and face cross-examination by Amber Heard's legal team.

According to a report released yesterday, legal experts say that Johnny Depp's victory over Amber Heard in a defamation suit is unlikely.

Legal experts believe that in addition to witnesses and evidence, the views of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in court could also play a significant role in the decision.

Statement by Amber Heard

Amber Heard told the jury in a May 5 affidavit that her ex-husband sexually abused her during a visit to Australia just months after their marriage, when she accompanied Johnny Depp to Australia in early 2015. A few months had passed since their marriage and they did not expect such exploitation and violence.

The actress said that the shooting of Johnny Depp's film 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' was going on in Australia, where he sexually abused her while she was drunk. He was tortured, not even allowed to eat, stripped naked and sexually abused in the worst possible way by a bottle of wine.

Johnny Depp's statement

Earlier, Johnny Depp had given answers to Amber Heard's lawyers during the interrogation, including recording his statement in court for several days. Johnny Depp had denied all allegations of torture against Amber Heard during the interrogation and claimed. On the contrary, his ex-wife used to torture him.

During the interrogation, Johnny Depp admitted that he had been using alcohol and other drugs, but that he had never harmed any of his relatives or friends.

In addition to Johnny Depp, some of his witnesses, including his older sister and a female psychiatrist employed by him, have also appeared in court.

The trial is set to begin on April 13 in the county of Fairfax County, Virginia. The trial is expected to last 6 to 8 weeks and end in July or August 2022. The case will be decided by the middle of the year.

When did the case happen?

The Virginia County Fairfax case is a defamation suit filed by Johnny Depp, in which he has filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

The lawsuit was filed by Johnny Depp in March 2019 after his ex-wife, Amber Heard, wrote an article in a newspaper.

Johnny Depp's ex-wife wrote an article in the Washington Post about domestic violence against women, the subject of domestic sexual harassment.

In her article, Amber Heard called on US government agencies to take tougher measures to protect women from domestic violence, domestic sexual harassment and exploitation. Despite this, they could not speak openly on the issue.

The actress did not use the name of her ex-husband Johnny Depp in her article but she was referring to him.

Criticism of Johnny Depp escalated after the article was published and his career was in jeopardy, after which he filed a 2019 50 million lawsuit against Amber Heard in March 2019, in response to which Amber responded. Heard also sued him for 100 million.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp started dating in 2011 and were married in February 2015.

Fifteen months after the marriage began, Amber Heard filed for divorce in June 2016, accusing Johnny Depp of violence, and the two divorced in 2017.
