The International Judo Federation (IJF) has revoked the honorary presidency of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A statement issued by the International Judo Federation said that after the attack on Ukraine, the honorary presidency of the federation has been withdrawn from Russian President Vladimir Putin and he has also been removed from the post of honorary ambassador.
President Putin is an authoritative judoka and was given the eighth dean in 2014, one of the highest levels of judo.
The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for five days and the Russian army has laid siege to several cities, including the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
