In India and Pakistan usually the groom goes to the bride's house with the barat, but in India a bride changed this custom and reached the bride's house with the barat.

At weddings, the bridegroom often comes on horseback with the rider band to play the bride, but in the Indian city of Ambala, a bride changed this tradition and reached the bridegroom's house on horseback.

Relatives and friends, including the bride's parents, attended the unconventional wedding. The wedding reception at the bridegroom's house is like the wedding reception at the bride's house.
