Sheffield Crown Court has sentenced Lord Nazir Ahmed to five-and-a-half years in prison for sexually assaulting children.
Lord Nazir Ahmed was found guilty of sexually assaulting children in Sheffield Crown Court.
Lord Nazir was accused of attempting to rape a girl younger than himself in the early 1970's when he was 16 or 17 years old. He was also accused of assaulting a boy under the age of 11 during the same period.
Lader Nazir Ahmed denied the allegations, calling them "malicious fiction".
Lord Nazir had denied the allegations and announced to appeal against the verdict while his two elder brothers were also charged but declared unfit for trial.
Sentencing, Justice Lavender said his actions had "profound and lasting effects" on the victims.

According to media reports, the victim demanded withdrawal of Nazir Ahmad's speech.
