In the US state of California, a gunman opened fire on a bus, killing one person and seriously injuring four others, including a pregnant woman, while the accused took off his clothes to avoid arrest.
According to US media, a 21-year-old gunman in a passenger bus in California suddenly said loudly that Los Angeles is a dangerous city and then started a fight by calling a passenger a secret officer.
As the bus stopped at a store, a gunman opened fire indiscriminately on passengers and ran into a shopping mall, where he started arguing with another man.
California police rushed to the shopping mall in pursuit of the suspect. Upon seeing the police, the suspect took off his clothes to avoid arrest, but the police officer took the suspect to the police station naked.
One person was killed and four others were injured in the firing. Among the injured was a pregnant woman who was shifted to a hospital. The accused has been identified as Asahadi Coleman.
According to police, the 21-year-old accused has been addicted to crime since childhood and has a criminal record. The accused has also served imprisonment in 2020 and 2021. There was also a ban on buying weapons if the accused was involved in crime.
Police say they are investigating how the accused bought the weapons despite the ban. The cause of the shooting could not be ascertained but according to the police, the accused was intoxicated and seemed to be suffering from mental illness.
