The passenger, who had been hiding in the wheels of the plane for a long journey of eleven hours, reached the Netherlands alive.
Dutch police say they have found a "stove away" from the wheel of a cargo plane in safe condition. The plane landed at Amsterdam's Skipal Airport from South Africa.
The cargo flight left Johannesburg for Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, and stayed for a while in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
The survival of such stealth passengers on such a long flight is a rare occurrence because at such an altitude not only is it freezing cold but also the amount of oxygen in the air is low.
According to Dutch police, the man's age and nationality have not yet been determined.
A Dutch police spokesman told AFP the man was hiding in the wheel chamber of the plane, from where he was taken to hospital in good condition.
The spokesman said that surviving in these circumstances is very unusual.
According to Dutch broadcaster SOS, the man's body temperature was raised at the airport and by the time the ambulance arrived, he had regained consciousness enough to answer basic questions.
Cargo company Cargolix confirmed in an email to Reuters that the man had been recovered from a flight, but it was not clear if the man was hiding in a whale chamber from South Africa or Kenya.
