The Iranian president has vowed to avenge the assassination of General Qasim Soleimani

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi has said that if the United States does not prosecute and punish those involved in the assassination of Iranian General Qasim Soleimani, Iran will avenge the assassination of its general. According to Mail Online, the announcement was made by President Raeesi while addressing the nation on television on the occasion of the second anniversary of the assassination of General Soleimani.

"Donald Trump is the real culprit and the killer who ordered the drone strike on General Soleimani's convoy in Iraq. He must be punished," he said. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan demanded that a fair international tribunal be set up and that former US President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other US officials be tried in connection with the assassination of General Soleimani.

In his speech, President Raisi warned that if Trump was not prosecuted, Muslims would avenge their martyrdom. He said it was not just an attack on General Soleimani but an attack on the entire Iranian nation. It should be noted that General Soleimani was targeted in a drone strike in January 2020, some distance from the airport in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. He was the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' military intelligence wing. Iran says General Soleimani was on a diplomatic mission to Iraq when he was assassinated, so it is a serious violation of international law that should be dealt with against Donald Trump and others.
