In the Indian state of Karnataka, a citizen set fire to a bank after his loan application was rejected.
According to reports, the incident took place in Howrah district of the Indian state of Karnataka, where on January 9, 33-year-old Wasim Hazrat set fire to a bank after his loan application was rejected.
Foreign media reported that Wasim had applied for a loan of Rs 1.6 million in a government bank in December last year, but the bank rejected his application due to non-compliance with paperwork and bank policy.
Wasim was angry when the loan application was rejected by the bank and on Sunday he rode his motorbike into the bank branch and broke the window, sprayed petrol and set the building on fire.
According to reports, in case of fire, firefighters immediately reached the bank and extinguished the fire.
However, police said the fire damaged five computers, fans, printers, cash counting machines and lights worth Rs 12 lakh.
According to reports, police have arrested accused Wasim and registered a case.
