Nusrat Ghani, a Member of Parliament for the United Kingdom, has said that the Conservative government removed him from the ministry in February 2020 simply because he was a Muslim.
According to the British Sunday Times, former junior transport minister Nusrat Ghani has alleged that she was removed from the ministry two years ago simply because some members of the cabinet had a problem with me being a Muslim. ۔
Nusrat Ghani, 39, added that "Chief Whip" Mark Spencer, who is responsible for ensuring discipline in parliament, had said that other members of the cabinet were concerned about his Muslim faith.
"I was told that my being a Muslim was raised as an issue in the cabinet reshuffle meeting," the Muslim MP said. This attitude of my own party shook my confidence and at times I even seriously considered leaving the Assembly.
It is believed that Nusrat Ghani's statement came at a time when one of her Conservative colleagues, William Rigg, has accused parliamentary whips of trying to blackmail members of parliament.
The office of Prime Minister Boris Johnson did not immediately respond to a request for comment from former Prime Minister Nusrat Ghani, but Chief Whip Mark Spencer responded on Twitter that the allegations were "completely false and I consider them defamatory."
It should be noted that in the past also British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been often criticized for making inappropriate statements against Muslims. In one of his columns, he likened burqa-clad women to dacoits and letterboxes.
