Former Australian cricket team league spinner Shane Warne has revealed that he was offered millions of dollars by Saleem Malik 25 years ago for poor performance in a Test match.
In a recent interview with the international media, Shane Warne , while talking about his new documentary, said that he was offered up to 76 276,000 by a Pakistani player in exchange for bowling badly against Pakistan.
"We were in a strong position to win this match against Pakistan," he said.
The Australian bowler said that during Saleem Malik's captaincy, when he was with his team at a hotel in Karachi, he received a call on his mobile and was asked to come to the room. According to Shane Warne , when he reached outside the room and knocked on the door, Saleem Malik asked him to come in, after which he sat in the room and then started talking about the match.
Warren said Saleem Malik had said, "If we lose, our houses and our families will be burned down."
The Australian bowler said that after that Saleem Malik offered me 200,000 for bowling poorly on the fifth day and not taking a wicket but I flatly refused.
According to Shane Warne , he got angry with Saleem Malik after seeing the money and said, "We will continue to defeat you tomorrow."
It should be noted that a five-day Test match was played between Australia and Pakistan in 1994. On the last day, Australia needed 7 wickets while Pakistan needed 160 runs to win.
Pakistan achieved this target in the fourth innings with the participation of the 10th wicket, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mushaq Ahmed were present on the wicket at that time. In this Test match, Shane Warren took 8 wickets for 150 runs in 63.1 overs.
The Australian batsman alleged that the umpire had not ruled out the integration despite being LBW several times.
