WASHINGTON: Pfizer, the world's largest pharmaceutical company, has increased its dosage to make corona vaccine more effective for children.
According to the American broadcaster CNN, Pfizer said that a study of children between the ages of 2 and 5 found that the corona vaccine given to children was ineffective in producing the required immunity. Therefore, instead of 2 doses, 3 doses are being included in the vaccine course.
Based on its data, the company has decided to increase the dose of vaccine for children from 6 months to 5 years.
Pfizer also said that a second dose of 3 micrograms would be administered two months after the two doses of the vaccine were given to protect children at a higher level, the results of which would be included in the ongoing study.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a subsidiary of the US Department of Health and Human Services, 8 cases of coronary heart disease have been reported so far from the Pfizer Corona vaccine given to children between the ages of 5 and 11.
